Gail Myers, president of Gail Myers Public Relations, LLC, has more than 30 years of experience in health care public relations and marketing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Morehead State University and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing from Xavier University.

Before she started her business, Gail was vice president of public relations and marketing for The Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. In this role, she was responsible for oversight of public relations and marketing, including advertising, marketing research, media relations, web strategy and associate communications across this multi-hospital system. She oversaw service line marketing and coordinated outside relationships with media buyers, public relations and advertising agencies, and coordinated branding activities. Among the significant accomplishments during her time at the Health Alliance, she:

  • Led development of branding strategy for Health Alliance; oversaw evolution from system focus to hospital focus. Health Alliance was the first system locally and one of the first systems in the nation to make this change, resulting in increased marketing awareness and effectiveness.

  • Led Web strategy development for Health Alliance Internet and intranet sites. Developed mission, vision, goals and strategies. Oversaw redesign of Internet and intranet sites. As a member of the communications committee, she participated in Web strategy development for the Uptown Consortium.

  • Guided a Six Sigma team to evaluate, lease and install more than 500 new multi-function copiers throughout Health Alliance facilities. Project had potential to reduce toner and ink costs by 20-40 percent. Selected minority vendor for this multi-million dollar contract, helping the Health Alliance to achieve supplier diversity vendor spending goal.

  • Served as spokesperson on major public image issues, including managed care negotiations and lawsuit to separate hospitals from Health Alliance.

  • Conducted numerous training sessions for staff and managers on professional topics, including e-mail etiquette, financial management and marketing research.
